Dhofar is famous for its exceptional seasonal weather, locally known as "the autumn season," which usually extends from July to September. During this time, monsoon winds from the Indian Ocean bring light drizzle and thick fog, transforming the mountains and plateaus into a stunning green canvas.  

Dhofar Governorate comprises 10 districts, with its administrative and economic center being Salalah, located about 1,000 kilometers from the capital, Muscat. Other districts include: Taqah, Mirbat, Thumrait, Rakhyout, Dhalkut, Maqshin, Salim, the Hallaniyat Islands, Sadah, and Al-Mazyunah.
