Al Dhahirah Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman is bordered by extensive land boundaries. To the east, it borders Al Dakhiliyah Governorate (across the Al Kour Mountains); to the south, Al Wusta Governorate (Haima Province); and to the north and northeast, Al Buraimi and North Al Batinah governorates. Its external land borders also connect it to the United Arab Emirates to the northwest, and to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the west and southwest. It serves as a strategic land gateway, historically connected to the Arabian Peninsula and used as a route for trade caravans. It is a fertile environment for agriculture, especially date palm cultivation and wheat production, and it also contains many oil and gas fields.

Al Dhahirah Governorate includes three main wilayas: Ibri (the center), Yanqul, and Dhank. It is distinguished by its long history, rich with castles and forts, as well as its agricultural and tourism assets.

Wadi Damm is located in the Wilayat of Ibri, Al Dhahirah Governorate, Oman, approximately 45 kilometers from the city center near Al Ain village. This seasonal wadi depends on rainfall and is known for its small cave, which is popular for camping. It is also located near the historic Damm Fort, making it an attractive destination for nature and adventure enthusiasts.

Al Sulaif Fort is a historic fortress in Oman that encloses a well-preserved traditional settlement of around 110 ancient houses. Surrounded by a massive defensive wall with seven watchtowers, including the famous Wind Tower, the fort also contains a mosque, a historic marketplace, a water well, and an underground falaj irrigation channel, reflecting the architectural and cultural heritage of the region.

Ibri Traditional Souq is the largest and most well-known traditional market in Al Dhahirah Governorate, Oman. Located in the heart of Ibri beside the historic Ibri Fort, the souq is a vibrant commercial and cultural landmark. It features gold and silver jewelry shops, traditional goods and handicrafts, a public auction yard, and a variety of locally produced products, offering visitors an authentic glimpse into Omani heritage and daily life.
